If you run a restaurant in the Gulf and you are shopping for a system, Foodics will come up early. It is established, it is Arabic first, and plenty of good kitchens run on it. This article is not an attempt to talk you out of it. It is the comparison we would want if we were the ones buying: what each platform actually does, where the two genuinely differ, and which kind of restaurant is better served by which.
Everything said about Foodics below comes from its own public documentation and pricing pages. We refresh this page quarterly. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will fix it, because a comparison that flatters us by being wrong is worth nothing to you.
The short version
Foodics and Wink You cover the same core ground: a cloud point of sale, a kitchen display, Arabic first operations, and multi branch reporting. If that list is your whole requirement, both will serve you and the decision comes down to price, hardware, and who answers the phone when something breaks at 9pm on a Friday.
The differences show up at the edges. Wink You includes QR ordering with no app to install, a loyalty pass that lives in Apple Wallet and Google Pay, and a full online storefront, all on one bill and one login. Foodics leans harder on a mature hardware and integration ecosystem, and on a partner network that is larger than ours. Which of those two shapes matters more depends entirely on your restaurant.
Feature by feature
The grid below is the honest version. A partial mark means the capability exists but is limited, gated behind a higher tier, or needs a third party add on. It does not mean the vendor cannot do it at all.

Where the two genuinely differ
QR ordering that guests actually use
Most platforms have something QR shaped. The question is whether a guest can scan a sticker on the table, read the menu in Arabic or English, add items, and pay, without downloading anything and without creating an account. In Wink You that is the default path and it is included in every plan. Treat any QR feature that requires an app install as a different product, because your guests will treat it that way too.
Loyalty that lives in the phone wallet
A punch card in a drawer gets lost. An app nobody opens gets deleted. A pass in Apple Wallet or Google Pay sits next to the boarding pass and the parking ticket, it updates its own balance after every visit, and it can push a notification when the guest is near the branch. Wink You issues that pass, with points and tiers, as part of the platform. This is the single feature owners most often tell us tipped the decision.
One platform if you also sell online
A lot of restaurants now sell more than meals: retail bags of beans, sauces, branded merchandise, gift cards. Normally that means a second subscription, a second admin, a second stock count, and two numbers that never agree at the end of the month. Wink You runs the restaurant and a full online storefront on one account, one product catalogue, and one bill. If you do not sell anything online, this difference is worth nothing to you, and you should ignore it.
Hardware you already own
Wink You runs in a browser and on iPhone, iPad, and Android, so a second till can be an iPad you already have and a kitchen screen can be any tablet on a stand. That lowers the cost of opening a branch and it means a failed device is replaced from a shop, not from a supplier lead time. Dedicated terminals are genuinely sturdier in a hot kitchen, so if you want purpose built hardware with a service contract behind it, that is a fair reason to prefer a vendor built around it.
Where Foodics is the better answer
We would rather you buy the right thing than buy from us. Foodics is likely the stronger fit if you run a large chain that already depends on its integration ecosystem, if you need a specific certified hardware or accounting integration it supports and we do not yet, or if you want the reassurance of the biggest installed base and partner network in the region. Those are real advantages and no feature grid should hide them.
Where Wink You is the better answer
- You want guests ordering from the table by QR on day one, with no app and no per order commission.
- You want a real loyalty programme in the phone wallet rather than a card nobody keeps.
- You sell online as well as in the dining room and refuse to pay for two systems.
- You are opening branches and want to add a till without buying a proprietary terminal.
- You want everything included in the plan rather than a base price plus modules.
Questions to ask both of us
Take these to any vendor, including us, and compare the answers rather than the brochures.
- What is the total monthly cost for my number of branches and tills, with nothing else to add later?
- Which of the features you just showed me are in that price, and which are a separate module?
- Can I export my menu, my orders, and my customer list on the day I decide to leave?
- What exactly happens to a sale in progress when the internet drops, and what happens when it comes back?
- Is there a commission on QR or online orders, and what is it?
- Who do I reach at 9pm on a Friday, and in which language?
How to decide without guessing
Do not decide from a comparison table, ours included. Run one real service on each. Put a QR sticker on four tables, take live orders through the kitchen display, print a tax invoice, and close the day. An hour of real service tells you more about a platform than a week of demos, because the friction you feel on a busy Thursday night is the friction your staff will feel every night.
You can book a 30 minute live demo with us, and the pricing page shows the full plan comparison in AED with a currency switcher. If after an hour it does not fit your kitchen, we would genuinely rather you went with Foodics than joined and regretted it.
